We just simply love our Kids

Being married for 16 years now has its rewards. In spite of the many obstacle, struggles and problems of parenting, we would like to be honest that we really enjoyed it. Raising two bouncy kids at home is really like getting into an life changing adventure that’s getting more and more exciting as you continue to be in it. Just seeing our kids growing, learning and applying the things we taught them are simple gifts of encouragement for us to be good examples for them and continue to be an inspiration as they face realities in life. It’s not easy, yes, but it can be made light the burden if what’s in your heart for your kids is love.

What’s more exciting is that as you teach your kids about life, amazingly, they too teach you more about it! They teach us about using our imagination more often. As we get older, we begin to be so busy and forget to dream dreams. Remember, without a vision or life’s dream, you begin to die. Children teach us to imitate. We may think that they are stubborn and not listening to us, but children really do watch our actions and emulate them. And how about trust? Our lives become complex as we grow older. Yet to the children, they don’t need to worry about anything since they have their parents to worry about it. How about us? Can we trust God to provide us with things we need? Those are just some of the things we learn from our kids. Having them in our life really changes it forever. We just simply love them for it.

Celebration of Halloween

HALLOWEEN is the next most celebrated holiday second to Christmas. It’s a time for showing off your costumes and having fun with family and friends. Although the celebration has no such Christian spiritual features unlike the celebration of Christmas (celebrates the birth of our Savior) and Easter (commemorates Christ’s resurrection) but most Christian celebrates it just for entertainment. . Some Halloween activities could be considered anti-Christian, and would, therefore, be avoided. Christians would want to avoid demonic associations, for example. With these things in mind, it would be appropriate for Christians to consider carefully their activities on this holiday.

Enjoy Life, but.....

This is the introduction of my lecture for the students at Liceo de Cagayan University.

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10

People (young, and old alike) live as though they’re never going to have to account for their actions! We answer to God. He wants us to enjoy life. We can’t enjoy life if we’re harming ourselves. Much of what people think is a “good time” is actually self-abuse. I was reading recently how alcoholics can’t really enjoy a glass of beer or wine. They’ve lost the capacity to savor. Their enjoyment is spoiled, and a fine wine is wasted on them. It’s simply a means to an end. Benjamin Franklin observed that, “beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” Proverbs 104:15 says that God made wine to “gladden our hearts.” When we abuse this gift, we only hurt ourselves, and others. Solomon is calling us to a life of personal responsibility for our own good.

Life is fleeting

Ecclesiastes 12:1-8

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come.” Sounds a lot like a guy who’s going out with his buddies for a final fling a few days . before reporting for Basic Training. What Solomon’s saying is that we don’t have all the time in the world. It may seem that way when we’re young, but life is brief.

Thanksgiving in Canada

Why is it that Canada’s Thanksgiving Day is different from USA? . Since 1957, Thanksgiving Day in Canada has been a holiday on the second Monday of October. On this very day, the Canadian people give thanks for a good harvest and other fortunes in the past year. They often used this three-day holiday weekend to visit family or friends who live far away, or to receive them in their own homes. Most of tehm prepare special meals to eat at some point during the long weekend. Traditionally, food includes roast turkey and seasonal produce, such as pumpkin, corn, and pecan nuts

10-10-10

October 10,2010 or 10-10-10 said to be lucky day by most of the psychic ... but I wondered why a famous psychic said on TV that it is a bad luck for those who will be spending time out from the house. Ooppppsss... is she making a joke? or just wanted some attention? I believe that October 10,2010 is same ordinary days as the 365 days from January 1 - December 31. God made each day for us to enjoy .

Floods... Flood... Floods...

Calling our City Government Services and Maintenance Dept. and the Dept.f Public Works and Highways! Last night our city was flooded again making hard for all the people of Cagayan de Oro City. The heavy rain yesterday at 4 p.m. to 6pm, caused the water to rise in most streets .What happened to our drainage system? I am sure they were clogged again with garbage and other trashes. For once , I never seen the maintainance department doing some clean-up with the catch basin, inlets and manholes in our city. Please do your JOB!

ABC Wednesday

Thanksgiving...is when we just say thanks to God for all He has done. Again, the Psalms are a great place to head to be reminded of all He has done for us. Use the psalmists’ words as your own. It’s a good way to learn to just talk with God.

What is a L eader?

A leader is someone who people choose to follow: PERIOD.
• A leader influences others to do things that they may not otherwise do.
• “If you think you are a leader and no one follows, then you are just taking a walk.”

Funeral Meditation

My hubby was tasked to give the message for a funeral service tonight . While he was preparing his message , I remembered the perfect Bible Chapter which was my first memory chapter in the Bible - Psalm 23.

For centuries the Twenty-third Psalm has been one of the most treasured passages in all of Holy Scripture. It is among the most familiar, so much so that even people who are not religious or very knowledgeable about Scripture recognize these words.

They are among the most comforting, often being quoted in times of trouble or distress, and almost always being read when we gather in our Sanctuary for a funeral.

Incadescent to CFL

Our City’s Electric Power Corporation supports the government’s aim to encourage energy efficiency practices. They are promoting the use of the compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) instead of the incandescent bulb by replacing your old Incandescent Bulb with brand new CFL for free. Last month, we were able to replace 24 pcs using 4 different accounts. CFL has a lot of advantage against Incadescent like electric consumption and lumens life.
